Superior Crane Corporation’s Hoists Featured in Case Study-Minnesota
Superior Crane has done it again-Teaming up with Magnetek Engineered Systems in providing material handling solutions that are affordable and efficient!
A case study was performed on the Red River Pedestrian Bridge located between Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota. The Red River Pedestrian Bridge often experienced annual flooding issues which would damage the bridge or be costly in lifting when removing it. A solution of using Superior Crane’s own 40Ton hoists and Magnetek’s adjustable frequency drives and crane controls now allows the bridge to be lifted safely and easily. Superior Crane collaborated with Waukesha County Technical College’s Center for Business Performance Solutions with the goal of getting ISO certified. Superior Crane started this journey in December of 2011. In July of 2012, SCC’s Machine Shop successfully passed its certified body audit and received ISO certification. Shortly thereafter, Superior Crane’s Parts, Manufacturing and Service departments followed the same path the Machine Shop had just taken. In July of 2013, Superior Crane’s Machine, Manufacturing, Parts and Service all passed their audits and received ISO certification.
WCTC Partners with SCC

Custom Built Cabs
In October, Superior Crane Corporation shipped 2 custom cabs to a Steel manufacturing plant in Blytheville, Arkansas. These cabs included a landing platform with stairway. The dual skin and insulated custom designed cabs comprised of full vision ¼” soda lime glass windows with IRR coating.
Tailored to the customers’ requests, the interior of the cabs were painted gray. The floors were designed with black coated smooth plate steel including a heat shield below the cab floor. The cabs were equipped with an HDT/Nordic pressurization system, evaporator, pilot control and JR Merritt FSBD operating chairs.
